I’m kicking off the new year by launching my first website! I built this space to share my journey into marketing, a journey that wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance and opportunities that I gained through effective networking.
One of my greatest achievements of 2025 was understanding the power of networking. To me, networking is more than adding countless connections on LinkedIn; it’s about building meaningful relationships with people who have a desire to support your growth and help shape your career. I realised this quickly after making real life connections with experienced professionals in the marketing industry.
Networking is all about learning new things. Whether it’s a 30 minute Zoom call or a ticket to a marketing conference, I am always looking for new ways to expand my network. This has led to valuable conversations with people from the marketing industry which has exposed me to a range of different ideas and perspectives. From SEO to website creation, I have seen and worked with different industry standard tools, allowing me to expand my skillset and build my foundations in this field.
I put this into practice in the Autumn of 2025 where I attended my first marketing conference to gain a real feel for the industry. I listened to insightful talks and learned so much about different areas of marketing. This really changed my perspective on my initial thoughts on marketing. This motivated me to seek guidance from the successful individuals that I was around, which opened the door to new opportunities. I am so happy to have been able to learn from Daphne Monro who has taught me valuable skills and given me the opportunity to create this WordPress website entirely on my own.
By letting my curiosity guide me, I have built up the courage to reach out and create lasting relationships with individuals. And this isn’t just about career growth; these experiences have fostered personal development and confidence which are invaluable skills to have in any aspect of life.
This website is proof of that. This is where I will be sharing my own personal experiences, what I am learning and the challenges I face as I continue to develop into a marketing professional. I’m grateful for the opportunities and people that I’ve worked with so far and I am excited to see where this journey leads to!
